I'm on the right. [Daily Cal 11/2/99]
I received the Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering in December 2000. My supervisor was Professor Paul Gray. My research was in Analog Circuit Design and Digital Signal Processing aimed at increasing receiver integration in CMOS. I was a Graduate Student Researcher at the Berkeley Wireless Research Center. I received a BSc (Hons.) in Electrical Engineering (5/1999) from Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario. I am a graduate of the International Baccalaureate Diploma program, prior to which I attended school in French. I am currently employed as an RFIC Design Engineer for Avnera Corp., a maker of wireless audio and video products.

Research

  • I developed an adaptive DSP algorithm for I-Q matching on Chris Rudell's image-reject mixer. This algorithm allows the mixer's image-rejection ratio to be maximized at run-time. I designed a custom VLSI implementation of the DSP with Bora Nikolic's help. Because of the very small duty cycle, the power consumption was 13 uW.
  • I designed a high Q integrated CMOS bandpass filter using bond wire inductors and high-Q MIM capacitors.

Engineering Interests: Analog and RF CMOS Circuits, Radio Architecture, Passive and Package Modeling, Wireless Communications, Antennas, Telemetry for Biomedical circuits, Digital Signal Processing, Statistical Optimization and Data Analysis.
